Aright guys,gonna need some advice...I have a 97 maxima se 5spd with y-pipe,test pipe,cat back,short throw,intake,udp,and certain things taken out to lighten out the whole car.I'm going against a 01 eclipse rs 5spd.BASE model.All i know is that he has an intake but I'm hearing its a little more than that.One of my friends says itd be close but another says I'll get blown away.There's money on the line this saturday on this race so I need to know if I have some chance no chance or all chance? I dont wanna lose money so let me know.I usually dont race cuz I dont like beating on my car,but he's been talkin enough trash and I just want him to shuttup.So I'm doing it,plus I have a project motor on the way...So let me know guys.Thanks.

 

well im not sure about mitsu eclipse model but ill take a guess that it is a 4 cyl model and not the v6. i cant see why you couldnt destroy him since you have like every basic bolt on and you are a 5 spd. even if he has intake, headers, and a few bolt ons i still believe ou can take him down unless he has some type of Forced induction. is your CEL on, any problems with your car?

wait one fu^ckin min here, i remember i had a run in with a stock v6 eclipse about a year ago (back when i was stock as well) and we were neck and neck the whole way till i backed off. now if i can hang with a v6 stock, you should destroy a 4 cyl, esp since you are 5 speed. i say go for it. i hope u know how to drive stick, cause thats the only way you will loose this one.

 

no problems with my car...and DO know how to drive stick...but I'm hearing he might have a chip...still have a chance? Yes its a 4cyl,but when I took a ride in that thing awhile ago when he was stock...it was QUICK.We raced a HEMI truck on the highway and kept up...now I dont know if HEMIs are fast,but from what I've heard they are.So I duno..

 

if its the rs its a 4 banger...even if he has bolt ons dont really matter...u should rape him unless he has a turbo, supercharger, or spraying...other then that i agree withi the buy up above...he does not really have a chance...if you drive good u should win...let us know the outcome...

 

My brother has a 03 eclipse v6 with an intake and exhaust system. He ran a 14.6 at the track two weeks ago. A stock 4cly runs about 16.5 in the quarter. Even if he has some bolt ons you shouldnt have a problem.

 

Those things r mad slow you should bust his ***** . This girl i know has a 2000 RS 5-speed and it is slower than slow. After 2nd gear the power goes to sh$t.

you can take him with out a problem the 2001 Eclipese models dont come equiped with turbo so its just a regular 4 cyl, Did u listen that car if he has a blow of valvle because if he does it means the he have either a suppercharger or a turbo if not ull rape him , and Rs is 2wheel drive if i can remember so there is nothing he can to do beat u. but then remember if he have a turbo give up dont even go for it because them ****s are fast with turbo but any ways good luck keep us posted

 

just make sure it's all motor. Unless it's the gsx or gst, then you shouldn't have a problem with the RS.

 

Yeah i raced a v6 eclipse and took him buy half a car and we both had just intake.so you should get em how much is on the line?
