I was trying to kill my speed limiter. i was without the instructions and forgot completely what to do. anyway i cut the wrong wire. i cut the blue wire with the either red or pink strip on the top left side of the bolt that screws in the ecu. how can i fix this? I taped it with electric tape but the CEL still is on. Now i have to go back and cut the correct wire and put it on a toggle switch tonight. the top wire that is pink with a blue strip was just too obvious and im glad i didnt cut that one because its the fuel temp wire. Last night I was trying to test the limiter. it didnt cut the fuel at 115mph but the speedometer stopped at 110mph and the car kept pulling. After I got out the car after racing hard for several miles the car was puttering through the muffler. I also needed some gas though. This morning when I got up and drove to work it since i taped the wire together it drove fine and no puttering but the CEL was on after sitting all night. can I dissconnect the negative to reset the ECU and be fine?

I did read your question... my recommendation to make sure you reset the ECU was so that you could test to see if your fix with electrical tape did the trick since the CEL will not clear on its own. (I interpreted your statement "I taped it with electric tape" to mean that you tried to reconnect the cut wire).
