Question, I am acquiring a 1999 Maxima SE very soon.. and was curious if the BOSE speaker systems are standard in all '99's?? And how good are they. thank you!!

The Bose was only standard on the GLE trim level. It was on option on the SEs. Your SE may or may not have included that option when purchased.

They're all options so pretty much any maxima could have them.

As for how good they are, I have a 96 SE with a BOSE and it's beatiful, it definietly get's the job done, a wee bit more bass wouldn't hurt but it can get loud and stay clean (very little distortion) I like it.

No. You can buy a better aftermarket one.

I like my Bose a lot. Like was said it could use a little more bass so if you listen to rap you may want to go aftermarket but it sounds 10x better than most stock stereo systems

If the max you are looking at getting has leather, it will more than likely have the BOSE.
But like others said, any of them could have the BOSE.

I like the system a lot. It suits my needs.

Just look at the rear speaker grills if you can. If it says BOSE then it has a BOSE system.

I have Bose on my 96 SE. Sounds great. Even w/ RAP music. I plan on add two 12" later.

2 12" is too much for anyone.
You can never use the potential of the subs, or you will go deaf.

One bazooka tube (10") in plenty of bass.

I have a 2000 GLE with the Seven speaker BOSE system;
Let me tell you, the 95-99 6-speaker BOSE systems rocks in comparison to my system. The Bass in the 95-99 BOSE systems thumps harder and sounds beautiful. If it wasn't a pain, I would trade setups.
You will definately enjoy the system if your 99 has it, and this is coming from someone who listens to RAP and Hip Hop.

I have a 2003 with bose and a 96 with bose.

Stock, the 96 sounds much much better than the 2003. I put an infinity basslink in my 2003 and it sounds good now, but could use even a bit more bass. I'd tend to think a pair of 12's would totally kick ***, however, you will need to add dynomat or something similar to your trunk to stop the rattle.

I think the 95-99 BOSE systems sound better because they are individually amped versus the 5th gen having only one amp in the trunk. Also, I think in 00-03 Nissan engineers relied too much on the subwoofer to provide the "fullest bass you'll ever hear". The system is nice for stock with the exception of deck rattle, but I'd prefer the 4th gen BOSE system; Indeed, beautiful bass.

yeah, 5th gens only have one speaker on rear deck. I don't think this is as adequate as the 2 on the lid that we have.
