keyless entry programming difficulty

I just purchased a used 95-99 remote entry (FCC ID: A269ZUA079) along with programming instructions. the instructions say to:

1: lock all doors and sit inside car
2: insert and remove key from ignition 6 times within 10 seconds
this causes a blink in the dashboard lights which allows proceeding
turn switch to "ON" and press any button on the remote and it should work

BUT..... i never see the blink of my dashboard lights no matter how i instert the key

if i do it 100 times within 60 seconds i still see no light. i have a 99 SE LTD and was wondering what i was doing wrong... i would rather not pay a dealer $40 for this since i just lost my job. is there a specific trick to inserting the key? anyone have experience i would appreciate it.

Do you have a remote that works right now? or is this your first remote...?

Try the procedure here:

Under the Maintenance Section - Programming the Keyless Remote.

Are you sure your car has the keyless entry option? If you've never had a remote for the car until you got this second hand one, chances are it doesn't have it Even if you have the alarm, it does not mean you have keyless entry.

I have the same problem with keyless entry

I have been going throught the same problems and my dealer has been no help. I even took it by one day and the Service Advisor told me that one of my door latches was bad so I replaced it and still nothing, I can not get the hazards to flash. Is there a way to tell if the vehicle has RKE (remote keyless entry)or not??
