Nokya headlight bulbs

ok, well im thinking about buying a pair of these they are only 33$ at this performance store near my house. My friend just installed a pair in his jeep, and they look amazing visibility is way better than stock, and silver stars also. They remind me of my friends PIAA bulbs. i was just wondering if anyone has had experience with these and know how long they last? thanks heres a link of what they are:

If they have a blue coating, they'll suck in the rain.

i rocked a pair of nokya arctic white's for a while (about a year) until one went out. pretty decent light output, but like ch13f said, limited visibility in the rain, as with any coated bulb

for those with nokya where did you find bulbs that had stock wattage, all of the ones i see are 100w. i think our bulbs ar like 55w. did you have to upgrade the wiring harness or did you find lower wattage bulbs?

looks really nice, but limited in the rain. better get some upgraded harnesses; these suckers will burn your OEM ones out like whoa

heh, this is prolly a stupid question, but ive never installed headlight bulbs before and it seems really hard to not touch the glass while installing, if i wore rubber gloves or something so that the oils in my hands dont touch the glass will it be ok to touch the glass with the gloves?

Just get yourself some Sylvania Xtravision bulbs.

Pros:
Brighter than stock
Works great in rain, snow, and fog (I hardly ever need my fog lights)
Lasts A LOT longer
Less than $10 each
Won't burn out your bulb socket/harness

Cons: Doesn't have the "COOL" blue look.

I just use a clean cloth to hold the bulb when I stick it onto the socket. The rest of the time I hold the socket to put the bulb back into the headlight housing.

Luckily the maxima's headlight bulbs are fairly easy to change. (Unlike my mom's '03 Honda Civic EX..what a PITA)

If you don't want to touch your bulb lenses, use latex gloves. Personally, I have never had a problem with touching the bulb lense. When you install them, simply place the bulb in the light housing before you plug it in. This will eliminate the possibility of touching the lense.

Next, I have the nokya arctic purple bulbs (stock wattage) and I love them. Rain vision is worse then stock, because only yellow light travels through rain effectively. I can deal with this for how much dry vision is improved. I got them for less than $20 on ebay.

nokya's rock, i get em for 25 at my local shop, had them in all 3 of my cars, love em to death for 25 bucks, always get compliments. i got the purples in my maxima now, all my experiences with their bulbs are good, i never had one burn out on me, well except on of the highbeams in the ones i have now went out after about 13 months of use, no complaints, will def buy the same set soon. visibility in the rain isnt too bad, just get yellow fogs if you need to.

why dont you guys do the 9007 bulb conversion...
I did it on my 93 max..and it was pouring at night and i had to drive home..trust me..you'll be happy doing the conversion because i had so much visibility, i just couldnt believe it..the light output is so amazing....

Well I got the Nokia white for 4 mons and it went out on me,and melted one harness,so I went and got the purple set and it last for about 9 mons and now they melted two of my harness even with the ground wiring upgrade. Now I'm prolly going to try the sylvania silver star and see how it will work out.Anyone with the sylvania silver star melted their harness yet?

ok ppl here's the deal!
I first put the Nokya arctic white & yes they are awesome. Alot of ppl telling me that they are damn bright. Yes they melted my harness only on one side. I then bought the apc wire harness upgrade wiring which draws the power from the battery. I then was told that they were illegal & slapped the silverstars on (not bad) but they are not Nokya's. I recently had a problem with the upgrade wiring so I took it off & replaced the harness' with regular aftermarket ones fron the auto shop & so far no melting has occured.
Here's something to look out for, when u put the bulbs in, make sure they snap in completely because if there's a little "play" this is what causes the meltdown.

ATTENTION!!!!!!!
Nokya apparently brought out their new bulbs which apparently draw less energy & the new ones are rated at 7000K versus the old ones at 4100K.

yah, i had heard bout their new line, im just going to upgrade my harnesses, i was told that the plastic on the stock ones are too thin and thats why they melt. im ordering a set off ebay 22$ shipped, where the ones at the local performance store are 36 + tax.

as for nokyas i wouldnt buy anything but stage II or I stage I is stock wattage and of course less bright but still none the less nice but as everyone else said visability in rain sucks. Stage II are high watt bulbs that can melt harnesses as it warns right on the box, but as for my experiance ive never melted any harness with em i have em in my cavalier moms camry sisters 03 corolla and dads lincoln lol and soon to have the 9007 stage II conversion in my max, those are all stage II's and they have never melted any harnesses, but thats not to say it cant because ive seen it happen ive just been lucky i guess but heres some pics to compare...heres one that compares stock vs stage II nokya this one is another comparison but differnt angleas you can see in the next one oncomming drivers get blinded mind you these are the lowbeams were talking aboutas you can see here i have countless amount of bulbs ive had these are about half most of which that are blue coated are TRASH
