'97 SE - Alarm Went CRAZY!

A friend of my family recently purchased a 1997 Maxima SE. She just had the car detailed, and last night was the first night that she had the car back after it was detailed. ALL night, every 10 minutes or so, the alarm kept going off. The police came, and it was a whole mess. She ended up staying up all night to press the button everytime it went off. She even tried leaving the car unlocked (not setting the alarm) and it would still go off. On her way to work today, she stopped at the dealer and they couldn't figure it out. She called me (knowing that I have a Maxima and am in to cars), but I have never heard of anything like this. We are thinking it may have something to do with having the car detailed because this happened when she got it back. Does anyone know what may have caused something like this to happen?

Thanks,
-Nick

I'm sorry. I should've included that information in my original post. It is the OEM alarm that came on the car form the factory.

Thanks,

Check the relays in the engine compartment and check all the ELECTRONICS fuses in the fuse boxes.

I'd also check the key fob as well. If the alarm button is pressed down for a few good seconds the alarm will go off too.

try taking the battery out of the remote thingy, just to see if it really is the remote or the car.

If the remote is rubbed the wrong way (ii.e.: STATIC) it can turn on the alarm. Take the battery OUT and check its voltage - it should be 3.0V or better. Alos CLEAN the remote so that the buttons do not get stuck accidentally.
