I posted a few days ago about the problem I had with my Eagle RSA's. The right front tire has a bubble in it and I only have 42000km on them. Today, I went to my Nissan dealer for them to check the right front tire. The guy looks at the tire and says they don't do inspections of tires and that I had to go to an authorized Goodyear dealer. Why in the hell would he tell me to come to the dealer for an inspection and then tell me that they can't do it!
Anyways, he told me that if they see that the problem is a defect and not caused by hitting a curb, they will replace it with a new tire and I will have to pay a certain amount because I used the other tire for 42000km's. I'm going to the Goodyear dealer and I'll post up what happened tommorrow.

Right, that's what is called a prorated warranty. They replace what you didnt already use.

Although that usually applies to treadwear, not defects. I'd haggle.

At 42km, If you get it prorated, it would probably cost almost as much as a new one. Wal-Mart sells an almost identical tire, Goodyear American Eagle, for about 60% of what the Goodyear store wants for a new RSA.

I assume you are in Canada. If so, it's a shame because I have 4 good Goodyear tires in my shed that I'm trying to sell. Freight from New Orleans would probably be prohibative.

I just got back from the Goodyear dealer...

I went to the Goodyear dealer today and the mechanic took a look at the bubble and immedietly the guy said it was a defect. The guy at the front desk was being a ***** and was questioning the mechanic about the defect. He later told me that I will have to come back on Monday when they receive the new tire and where they will take off the tire and rim and inspect the inside of the tire just to make sure it wasn't caused by me. The guy said that if it really is a defect I will have to pay only $30 Canadian for the new tire no matter how much milange I have! I'll let you guys know how everything goes on Monday.

"I answer phones and make appointments...I am the shiznit...BLAH BLAH BLAH!"

I hate the guy at the desk with the attitude, wherever he may be.
