MAF adapters...

sup guys. I already have a cone filter and adapter. Only thing is, I don't know what size my MAF adapter is... and I don't remember how big the cone filter was either. It's been on the car forever, and I wanted to buy a new one.

I just took a peice of string and wrapped it around the filter flange or whatever it's called and it came up to be around 13.5" . I did some simple math and divided that number by pii (3.14) and came up with 4.2". I think my adapter/filter is 4". So I just ordered a 4" from berk technologies.

Here's the thing... I was curious and did a search for a 4" MAF adapter and couldn't find any online. Does anyone know or have a 4" MAF adapter?? I hope I ordered the right size!

Sure it wasn't 3"? If the old filter and adapter are from ebay they are 3". If you got them from someone else who knows. Why didn't you just get a tape measure and see what the diameter was accross the opening of the filter and the adapter?

How about even simpler math and take off the filter and measure the inside diameter, should be 3"

doh! Big D just beat me to it, but at least we concur!

I had a 4" filter, but I had a special adapter for it. My MAF adapter was still 3".

can you please elaborate? I did take apart my intake before.. but i didn't pay attention to the adapter. Is it an extra peice that goes around the MAF sensor to add that extra 1" diameter?

I had a MAF adapter that was 3". I had another adapter that went from 3" to 4". Those two adapters were connected by a 3" to 3" coupling.

I have the 4" adaptor on my car. There is a 'cone-type' design to the adaptor that slims it down to a 3" size to fit the MAF itself.

I was in the same boat as you but just took off the adaptor and measured the flange for the filter. I also got my filter from Bryan at Berk Technology...very cool guy and had my filter sent right away.

I have a 4in adapter and a 4 in filter. I got mine at Carlisle about 2 years ago. It sounds great.
