tranny fluid overfilled??

I checked my tran fluid dipstick and the the mark was way above fill. I wiped it and measured it again on a cold engine.. and the level of fluid was up to the part where the dipstick gets bendy and curvy. Is this a serious problem? Or I can just run with it. Thanks for feedback

The car was running right? I'd drain it out since it's so easy to remove the drain plug.

Make sure you check the fluid level with the engine running (and warmed up), after having driven around for a while in all gears so the tranny fluid is flowing around. Then you're really supposed to move the auto shift selector through all the gears, I think. This may give you a more normal reading...

100% untrue. The hydraulic pump will purge unused tranny fluid if the pan is overfilled. That's what that hose is to the right of the front valve cover that isn't connected to anything.
