Which hyperwhite bulb is best...

Just wondering, for those of you who have replaced the factory bulb in your clearance lights with hyperwhite bulbs, which brand will give you the closest color match to the headlights? I've heard that some outshine the headlights by a lot! And, if I change to a hyperwhite bulb, will I have to worry about the plastic melting?

none...
no, not one, none, tinted bulb will out perform the stock bulbs in terms of visibility.... meaning what YOU see, not what others see looking at them.
Don't be fooled by color temp. A bulb with higher temp(ie whiter) is often thought to be brighter, it's not.
If all you car about is what other's can see... just pick the one with the bluest tint... you won't see much but other's can see your white light.
As I always say: do you want to see, or be seen?

Matching Clearance Lite to Headlites
I have Polarg Hyperwhites on my clearance corners and PIAA Superwhites.. The Polargs give out white light (with slight tint of blue). It's the CLOSEST shade of white lite you can possibly get WITHOUT REWIRING harnesses to match the brightness of the PIAA bulbs.

white vs. yellow, NHTS regs
I've heard that corner/clearance lighting must be amber in the front and red in the rear. Anything else is illegal and you can easily be ticketed. Is that really true?
In Connecticut, it used to be that the front license plate wasn't required. That changed quite some time ago, but many people still drive without one. I've never been pulled over for it, but when I inquired at DMV, they said it was illegal not having one visible and I could be ticketed.
Is this pretty much the same deal with lighting? I wonder if you stray into another state, that you may end up getting hassled.
So, wouldn't it be great to have a remote control switch to go from one lighting scheme to another? "White lighting officer? What are you talking about? Just take a close look for yourself." ;-)
