help - e-brake handle

i got a matrix carbon fiber handle, and the button doesnt even come out of it.. is it supposed to be like that? does anyone else have this handle?

have the same handle but the button comes all the way out. Your gonna have to use a wood block at the top end and a small malet to smack it down to the correct position. Thats what i had to do.
