MAX wont start!!

I've tried searching the net and the forum for this problem and no luck.
Everything in the car works fine, the lights, radio, A/C, windows etc but when i go to start it, I hear I click!( not the purring noise you hear when the battery power is low) I have a factory alarm set up on the car and only thing I've installed was a Head Unit, Amp and Subwoofer a month ago. I get the same response when attempting to jump the starter. Anyone with any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you

I've never actually had one go bad on me (I'm only on my second car), but I'm going to guess it's the starter.

Yeah, it may be the starter, but in my case it turned out to be more expensive. It was the ignition switch.

yea..i jus nextel'd a maxima "specialist" in NY and he said the same thing. Turns out the starter was bad.

**UPDATE...i just got off of work and the new BOSCH( not sure on the spelling) was purchased from a friend at pep boys. After purchasing it he tried installing it. Any tips on how to do so? It looks like I need a deep socket #14 and #17 and I sprayed a little wd40 to loosen up the factory bolt. Again any one with tips or suggestions please reply

I've pulled my starter about 6 or 7 times now.

I'm on my 4th and hopefully final one. If you didn't get a Nissan reman starter, keep your receipt! Non-factory starters do not last for some reason. I have seen many threads describing orgers going through starters like they were disposable. Not saying that your will croak, but just be aware.

Anyway, yup... pull the battery connections, pull intake out, pull the wires off the starter (a harness and the main power lead... 12mm I believe), then there are those 2 bolts... the 14 and the 17. That's it. It can be a b___h to manuver it out through the mess of wires and tubing but take your time and it will come out.

I replaced the last starter in about 10 minutes

I have a 5spd... it may be slightly different on an auto. If you have a 5spd, don't get too liberal with the WD40 as it hangs right over the clutch disk.

Good luck
