Could you please post some pic of aftermarket dash kits along with who your ordered them from and how hard the install is (from what i can tell it is 3m tape but i just want to make sure) Thanks for the help.....

I am going to do this also soon. I dont think im going to use the 3M tape. Ive never installed it before but i have used 3M double sided tape before. Wont the piece you are installing sit just a little higher then the surface. I mean the tape is a little thick.
What i was going to do was lightly sand the surface and then use formika glue to glue it on. Ive done counter tops many times and that glue is strong as hell. Its also hard to use but if you know what you are doing and are patient, it works wonders.
I just thought that using the 3M tape, would make it look stupid when looking at it up close.

 

if you've taken art class as a child, then the dash kits are mad easy to install. Just peel and stick.

i got the ebay aluminum dash kit and kinda regret it. A Joshua tree kit looks much better, as overtime the ebay dash turns a bit yellow-ish

but most of my focus went to my microvision screen these days... the dash-kit became expected

 

just like manuelmax said it's really easy to install. The 3m tape is already on the back of the dash kit. It comes with some extra adhesive to give the tape more sticking power.

 

Just peel and stick. As easy as that!
