Does anyone own or heard of the Megen Racing catback system? I like the look, but hows the sound and the gains? Any comments?

 

nealoc has MR catback on his 1996. it's actually only for 97-99, but with some minor modification it'll fit on 95-96 perfectly.

the sound of this catback is gay. the gains are similar to most catback system in the aftermarket.

IMO it sux.

the sound resembles "loud-as-****." if you dont want a very loud exhaust stay away from the megan. the sound is a low pitched growl at low rpm and partial throttle and turns into a very loud wail at full bore.

 

i heard it sounds lousy like a wet fart
go with the greddy sp2 it sounds excellent

 

What kind of minor mods do you have to do?

 

Megan has a low pitch moaning sound and loud when you get on it

whats the difference btw the 95-96 and 97-99 exhaust system

 

The 97-99 is a little bit longer and one of them has an extra o2 sensor (not sure which years)

 

The B pipe on the 97-99 is shorter by about 6" so you would have to do a little custom work to get a 97-99 exhaust to fit a 96. I have a testpipe so all I did was cut my testpipe in half and add in about 6" of piping to it and it fit fine.
