have a winding noise at startup. sounds like its coming from the alternator area but am not sure. my car has 153000 mile on it. once i have driven for a while the sound goes away. any help would be appreciated 97 max se

 

mine did the same thing for a few weeks, then battery light and break light went on. Found out my alternator was bad. Scored a free one from nissan...you might be able to also. Check your vin and date stuff at the nissan site for recalls. I had a 97 and it was recalled got it fixed a few weeks ago for free.

Thanks for that info on the recall went to site found out that mine was in the recall went to dealer and got it replaced at no charge. saved 300 bucks
