h22 street race

Hey guys, i doont normally post about me racing people since i dont do it to often but this one i wanted to share with you guys. i know we all have some friend that we tend to measure our cars performance against, so that we know each mod we get is working. i had a friend with a jdm h22 bubble that for the longest time wanted to race me and knock my nissan down a peg. i've heard some crazy kill stories, like he beat my friends m3 and stuff like that so i really wasnt really willing to lose a race to a civic. but on thursday i left from seeing spiderman 2 again and i gave him a call and him and his friends were out on the road bs'ing. so we decide to race since we finally have our cars back on the road and this seemed like a good opurtunity to do so. ohh and last time we raced it was after it rained and my tranny was bad and he killed me. so we roll up to 2nd gear and he honks 3 times and he jumps on it and for a sec im still rollinh until he gets about half a car on me. i stomp on the gas and go after him. i pull up along side of him in 2nd then during the shift ( which was so smooth due to the new 5gen tranny) he pulled alittle on me again. once in 3rd gear i just caught and pulled away from him. i actually walked on him pretty bad while in 3rd gear.

i just figured ill share my story with you guys since im happy to take down a friend of mine and have people give my car some respect for once.... next im gonna do something stupid and go after my friends srt-4.

ohh my friends jdm h22 he had dyno'd at 200 fwhp.

later,
will

Not surprising. My buddy hyped up his 97 Prelude (with the same H22, 5-speed, injen intake) and I spanked him 3 times in a row. They just don't have enough torque to race from a stop On the E-way at 70mph+ it ran just as strong as my stock SE, though.

h22 preludes arent anything to shake a stick at (if you have a Maxima at least). They should run similar times stock for stock (low 15's).

A healthy H22 in a civic hatch should be good for low 14's or high 13's depending on the mods and the driver.

Heck a healthy h22 in a hatch should be good for high 13's on street tires even with stock intake and exhaust

My brothers h22 hatch went 13.8 @ 102 with just a CAI and on street tires

Liquid I take it this was in a Prelude and not swapped in a hatch?

hey vsamoylov y would i be bs'ing you? i dont even waste my time like that. the h22 is in a civic hatchback. thats y i thought i was gonna lose when we raced. and the h22 hatch beat the m3 on a couple of occasions. from a stop he lost but from a roll he would in depending how far they went. i actually beat him even though he had a jump on me.

dude u know how quick u have to bee to beat a m3. the driver must did something wrong. a m3 weak point is a 30-50 roll but everything else is top notch. 1/4 stock is like 13.7 and 0-60 ranged from 5.4 to 5.6 secs.

13.7?? Where'd you get that? More like low low 14's with a VERY good driver. They don't even trap 100 stock.

Maybe an E46, but not an E36, which Im quite sure is what is being discussed. E36 only made like 240hp stock. It would be an easy kill for a h22 civic.

I once saw a del sol with a eclipse gsx conversion (don't ask, he even put the old awd from the old civics on it), and a civic hb with a jz motor. People spend too much bs time n money on bs hondas when they could just get a real car...Stupid incompetent fools..

kinda hard to beleave that you won against a civic with a h22 motor that has 190hp/156tq and only weighs 2000 lbs. I just cannot see that happening unless the guy just cannot drive it.

We have an H22 hatch (my buddy owns it) around here that ran a 13.4@100+? with the previous owner. My buddy now owns it and will try for better times...

integras have jack **** before 7K RPM's. An otherewise stock max with a y-pipe to help on the top end should hand a GSR its ***. I used to beat them all the time in my 2.3L DOHC non-VTEC Prelude.

I have walked all over the Integra GSR later last year....the Honda had intake and exhaust and I dominated him the first run doue to a faulty shift...the next time I played with him in second and as soon as he started to gain I shifted and walked right pass him in third to finish......i was nonetheless very pleased!

From my expierence at the track...

H22 in a hatch with with a couple basic bolt-on's is high 13 to a very low 14 sec car. I have seen several.

M3 E36 slightly moded is a high 13 sec a to very low 14 sec car.

Most bolt on 5spd Maximas are mid 14 sec cars.

i can see where every one may not belive wat im saying but thats wat happened. he's been wanting to race me for a while since we meet and it was the first dry day out so we ran and for some odd reason i beat him. maybe racing from a 2nd gear roll isnt there strong suit? i just was tired of everyone saying he would beat me even before we raced. i wish i had it on tape or something since even my fellow maxima guys dont belive me. hey maybe i was dreaming or something. i looked at my mods and from wat i can gather he should have beaten me but i won the race. and he's a good driver from wat i know since he races lots of crazy cars and seems to ither win or hang with them ( my friends 240whp '97 m3, my other friends srt-4, a g35 auto, even a stang gt which i though was gonna be suiside but he didnt lose to bad) granted he lost to the srt-4 and my friends m3 beat him most of the time. if i had some rack times or a dyno sheet then i could understand y i won. one thing though was that he had my friend joe in his car ( the m3 owner) and he weighs like 230 or something but the hatch had the jump on me and then i caught him through 3rd gear. i feel that if we left at the same time i would have raped him. i dont think it would be that different even if he didnt have a passenger. but i could be wrong.
