Unorthodox pulley

Is this question totally stupid or would this be feasable. I am bringing my 97 max into Nissan to get the alternator recall done. Is there any way they would put on an unorthodox pulley while they do it. And do they replace the belts with the free recall? if not shouldi have them do it anyway?

He has to take it to the dealer for the recall. When I had my recall done I had them replace the belts while they were at it provided they only charged for the belts and not the labor which is logical. As for the pulley, forget about it, there have been numerous threads regarding this and alot of disagreement as to whether it's worth it or if it even "frees up" any measurable amount of horsepower at all. My thinking is that the engineers must have designed it the way it is for a good reason, just leave it and spend the money on something proven.

when i got my alternator replaced, they gave me new belts. at the time i already had the pulley installed even before the recall started. they didn't mention anything about the pulley.

D1ckheads at the dealer I took it to would NOT replace the belt for me without charging me. They also sliced up one of the wires going to my compressor so my A/C didn't work, and I had to take it back to have them fix it.

So yeah, just have them do the alternator, and do the UDP yourself.
