Replacing wheel studs

I just replace 6 crossthreaded wheel studs on my maxima that snapped when i tried to take my wheels off. I used aftermarket wheel studs that were a little longer than O.E.M. I just tapped them in and tighten them to the hub/rotor with an impact wrench. My question is, is there a proper way to replace these studs and if aftermarket studs will be sufficient?
