I'm going to be on my third manuel tranny!!!
I had my tranny replaced about a year ago due to a blow third gear and already need another one. Same problem= shltty 3rd gear. Where can I get one fast and cheap?

Man, I am just a spirited driver. Not always but occasionally.
So, a tranny from 95-99 Infiniti I30 LSD will work with just the drivers side axle?
And how much will one set me back? including the axle?

I been reading alot of good information about Cryofreezing tranny gears to improve the strength. It's my understanding that Subaru's have very unreliable third gears also so alot of Subaru tunner's say it's the first thing to do if you plan on increasing the power output of the engine. You might want to look into something like that if you have consistantly had this problem with your transmissions. Another good thing about dismantling the transmission is you might be able to locate a company that can produce a different final drive gear for you. That would mean quicker acceleration but less top end. Only sh!tty thing would be crappier gas milage?

I drive very "spirited" most of the time, and you just have to know how to do that.
Why does your screen name have "sel" in it when you are 98? (just curious)

Learn how to drive a stick? Who are you to tell me?
I'm no noob to driving stick, the maxima community, and the org. Most anyone will tell you that the third gear in th 95-99 maximas are weak compared to most cars. Have you actually taken a maxima tranny apart and seen the thickness of the gear? It's a known fact that the third gear in our cars are shltty.
THe sel stands for se- leather. I know the SE-limited were only for the 99's.

What makes the 99 Limited? I know its the last year of 4th gen, it gets limited badge and that it has a digital mile meter, and that you cant change the 99 ecu.
Is that all?
