What kind of structs should i get? Plz recommend

My mechanic told (and later showed) me that all my struts are in bad shape and that i should replace them within next 2-4 months. I asked him what kind he will install and he said "KYB aftermarket" (whatever that means)

I have always wanted to lower my maxima little bit for smoother ride and i guess this is the time for me to decide which kind of strutc/shocks i need. I don't want to lower my car too much (not almost down to wheels).

This is stock maxima with no mods.

Please recommend
What brand/size i should ask him to buy or may be i can buy and give it to him.

Online link and other suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks all...

You should go with KYB GR-2's. They're stiffer than stock and not too expensive like adjustable ones(you can find them on eBay for around $230). Aftermarket struts will not lower your car though. Check ou this site for more parts ---> http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php?MaximaHandling

Tokico Illuminas; they don't blow like the KYB struts. I just had Illuminas installed in my car and they're wonderful when mated with H&R springs.
