Cattman Header's Install

Approximately how much would the header install cost?
First place that I went to they said $540 for 9hrs labor. 2nd place said $330 for 6 hrs. Third place said $80 for about 2-3 hrs of labor. I dont think that the third place knows what they will be doing, although they are a performance shop that works on Supras's and RX7's. And I dont think that I will attempt it myself because all these places were like "OMG, thats tough". Some places would not even attempt to intstall them.
So how much have you guys (with headers) had them installed for? And if anyone in the S.FLA area know of a good place to install them, let me know please. Im getting them by the end of next week, and want to install them as soon as I get them or the following day. Thanks

-Jon

Isn't a shop bound to their estimate if they give it to you in writing? If so, and the third shop knows what they are doing mechanically and you trust them (even though they may have underestimated the amount of work it would take to install them), I'd go with the third shop.

We have a performance shop in this area to..........but they wanna know which series engine my max had.......h22 or b18.......I just smiled and left.
So just cause its a performance shop doesnt mean they have a clue what they are doing.

Yeah If they are charging 80 bucks they might think your maxima has a 4 cylinder so they only have to install A header

[QUOTE=Nealoc187]Isn't a shop bound to their estimate if they give it to you in writing? [QUOTE]

I guess that must be true. When I went to get my SC kit installed the shop quoted me $600 Cdn for labor. When I went to pick it up they said that it should have cost $1000 but they stuck by their quote. However, they said that the next guy that walks through their doors with the Maxima SC kit will get the real world price!

Is not hard at all just takes lots of time, skin from your arms, and lots of frustration

Also good luck and hope you don't have any fitment issues.
