Maybe a bad wheel bearing?

Maybe a bad wheel bearing?
Hello all,
I have this weird noise coming from my front left rim. It sounds like someone is rolling a tire across a rubber floor and it souds like it rotates with the tire. Sort of a whump, whump, whump, but with the rubber on rubber sound. I thought it was my wheel bearing, but on all of the sites where everyone says the wheel bearings are out, it is described as a high pitched squeal. I have 107k miles on my max and was thinking it is about that time for the wheel bearing. ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, from my experience a high pitch sound was not my indication ,but rather a whirring sound, i.e whirr-whirr-whirr. You should jack the car up on the side that you are hearing the noise and shake the wheel left -right , using both hands to see if there is free play . Most use this test as an indicator.
Did you change tires recently? If so then new rubber sometimes increase road noise. The bearing is cheap , the labor is going to hang you.
Good luck and try not to pay too much if you are not using alternative methods to press the bearing out . I hope someone gives more indepth input than I did.

You nailed it right off the back. it is your wheel bearings. I replaced my fronts around the 105K mile mark and my rears around the 110K mile mark, that's about the time you'll notice them starting to go bad. Mine wasn't a high pitch sound like I hear others have experienced. Mine sounded like whump, whimp, whump, and got louder the more you accelerated and became very noticible as you hit the brakes. Depending upon if you can do it yourself or have someone else do it for you the front wheel bearings you can get from any autoparts store (I went to Pep boys and it cost me $35 for 1) . The rear I had to go to the dealer and it was a lot more (I believe around $100). Check around and see if someone is cheaper than that. Hope this helps.
