lowering my max.

hey guys/girls, i am looking to lower my car. whats the best springs to go with. i am going to get the tokico blues but what springs would go great with them. i want to drop it low enough so that when i throw my 19's on my fender would sit right above the rim. how low would i have to go 2 inches? if anyone could post pics also . thanks in advance guys.

This will help you get started

Don't buy the Tokico Blues; they're more of OEM replacements than aftermarket performance struts. You might be able to get away with them and H&R springs but I wouldn't risk it; save up and get Illuminas. If you'd like to see pics of my setup, check out my cardomain and you'll see the drop of H&R/Illuminas and 17" wheels with 225/50 tires.

go with tein s techs. 2.2 inch in front and 1.8 in back. thats a good 1 finger wheel gap all around.

however, i suggest you get illuminas because once you throw on your 19"s, you are going to have a harsh ride and the illuminas are much softer than the blues. blues are known to be garbage shocks as they blow right and left. trust me, do it once and do it right. you dont want to throw on new shocks and springs. spend hours doing it urself or pay a mechanic and then within 2 months u blow a shock, so u gotta buy a new one and install it. 2 months after another one blows and then you gotta replace that one as well. you'll keep doing this till you decide to buy illuminas which you should have done in the first place.

2.2" drop is major major drop and it requires some good shocks to absorb the impact. illuminas are the best and nobody has blown a single one yet. save ur money and urself a headache and order illuminas.

thats what im going to do as well. 19", illuminas + stechs.

im running Sprints and KYB AGX's and the car rides mint. I have the settings at 2/3 which in my opinion is perfect for daily driving, specially here in NY. My boy Tony has Spritns and AGX's as well with 19's and the drop look perfect. Keep in mind that you might wanna change the strut mounts up front along with the strut bearings and dust boots depending on your milage.
My original strut mounts and spring seats finally gave on me at 130k. So this past weekend i swapped those(NEW OEM parts) out along with both front axels and i gotta say the car rides just as smooth as the day i bought it.

just my .02!

how do you know when you strut mounts go bad?

i used me stock ones, along with the wheal bearing cause they looked fine. but what happens when the mounts go bad? any noises? or what?

The Eibachs give you a 1.5" drop in the front and 1.3" in the back.

This coming weekend I'm going to check out some Canadian made springs that give a 2" drop. They're priced at $119 Cdn.

Check out the thread in the Canada forum:

Our cars come stock with Tokico's. Not sure if they're blues but they are Tokico's.
