Trenz Grille Cheesy?

i have an all black max wit clear corners and a stock grille that i feel like changing, i saw the trenz grille and i feel like it will make my black max look like it is wearing braces or something....maybe i can paint that grille black on throw a silver emblem on it, or keep it silvery and throw the black maxima emblem....can you guys post pics of your 4th gen max with the trenz grille...my car is black i dont want the front to be too chromed out, it throws the whole color scheme off....opinions please.....thanks!

I agree with BlackCat. The home depot fly catcher grille looks way better and cheaper than the trenz grille.

Trenz grille + maxima=caca

If you paint it black and throw the Nissan hamburger logo on it it might look good. At least the grill would tie in with the G35 family look.

Note: After seeing Tyrexx's pic I don't think its a good idea anymore.

I had the trenz, you definatly need some chrome rims to match, otherwise it stands out way too much. Theres also some fitment issues.

Thanks a lot, im leaning toward not getting it or even doing what black cat did, but the trenz grille in that picture actually doesnt look too bad....although it does look like some kind of luxury cab service car like a lincoln or something...im prolly not getting trenz, but im still looking for something out there better than stock....with the stock all u can see is the damn bar across...

Are there any other grilles for the 97 Maxima, the trenz looks cheap (not reflecting the price) I've seen other types of billet grilles out there on other types of cars and they look good (no line down the middle)
Im not to partial on the sarona design grilles either.
Are there any grilles similar to the grilltech grill for the 2000+ maxima???
If not can you remove the grille completely and just have a floating Nissan Symbol (if you've ever seen a 2003 Mustang cobra how it has the mustang horse floating in the area where the grill should be. I work at a ford dealership so i see it all the time.)

I know what you mean about the grilltech but I never did find anything similar on the net. That's when I decided to be a little more creative.

When I saw the back end finish of the Pagani Zonda in Road&Track I applied the idea to my front grill. My concept was to make the mesh bulge out of the openings...making the center bar look like its "holding back" the bulge.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but here's a funny moment:
A couple of nights ago I went over to Home Depot to check out some deck stain and I saw 3 employees having their break by the exit door. As I found a parking spot I noticed that they were heading my way. As I got out one guy asked if this was a supercharged Max. I said yes but was confused at first about how he knew it until I realized that he must have looked over my car previously and saw the Stillen badge on the trunk. Anyhow, I found out that one guy lurks on this site. After getting a kick over the engine they said that they liked my grill. I told them that it was Home Depot gutter guard and they were blown away by it.

Here's a detail shot of the grill on the Zonda:

In order to get that curvature right I thought of using a wooden mold where you hammer the mesh against it but I don't have wood working carving skills.

It does look better on a light colored max, and that painted one looks hot, Nice 1MAX2NV

My dad liked my grille so he just bought mine, I think it looks alot better on his car than mine.

Cars with both top + bottom trendz look cool, and I like the older style without the center support.

Thats because you have to slightly bend the trenz to fit and the middle doesnt bend so it stays kinda pointed like that. I went from stock to trenz to S5. Whatever floats your boat. If you like it go for it, if not then dont and who cares what others think.

BlackCat: How did you secure that 'Gutter Guard Grille' from Home Depot to stay put around your upper and lower grilles? I have an '04 Spec V now and i'd be interested in trying that. Thanks!

Just get the Trenz. Don't listen to what everyone says, if you like it and want it, get it. Its all about being different anyways.

I thought so too and on my first design I cut out the opening for access to the hood release. It looked like a NACA duct from a distance but I wanted that clean look. On my second design you can still get to the release after you pop the hood. I used that plastic door edge trim to protect my fingers.

buy it and paint it gloss black and see how it looks. I think that will have far more potential than the standard chrome. Better yet, matte black - it won't attract attention but when people look at your car they'll pause over your grille and ask if that's stock.

Unless you're going for all-out-pimpin-style in a 4th gen I wouldn't bother with a chrome trenz grille. By pimpin we're talking chrome dubs, cefiro headlights, body kit and anything that screams "lookee here".

You Guys Know The Aftermarket Maxima Emblem? It is rounded, like two swirls joined together, with maxima in the center, it Has Carbon Fiber Or It Can Be Silver As Well.....does Anyone Have This In Place Of The Hamburger On Their Grille? and what are the dimensions of this emblem?
And Would This Look Better On The Trenz If I Were To Get It Sprayed Black? Just A Thought...
