I've got a 97 maxima 5 spd, and at part throttle I have surging acceleration. No Fault codes, all 3 o2 sensors and the knock sensor replaced 2.5 years ago.

I tried searching, but i can't; does anyone have any suggestions as to where to start looking for diagnosis?

Yea i was about to mention those. Which plugs are you using and how long have they been in there?. Might be time for a change...

 

You could have a knock sensor ghost code which won't light the CEL. Also could be an ignition coil starting to go bad that just hasn't tripped the misfire code yet.

I'm running bosch platnums (I know) but the problem was still there when I has my last set of OEM NGKs.

As far as the knoock sensor, would the code flash if I put the computer in diagnostic mode?
