Auto Transmission is shifting oddly out of First + other questions :)

Hi, I'm very new here, but I am definitely not new to this particular car. My family currently has two 2nd Generation Maximas (1 1995 model, and 1 1996 model). The older model is a GLE and the newer a GXE. Tomorrow I will be picking up another '95 GLE version. It has about 115k miles on it and has had two owners (from my knowledge that means that it is practically new .

Anyway, we're getting a really good deal in my opinion. $3750. It's a private seller and we also bought the '96 Maxima from him. It only had a couple quick problems and 117k miles ($3000). However, the problems seem to be a bit more extensive on this car. The one thing that I am truly worried about is a bit of a transmission problem. It is an auto and the problem seems to be that the car stays in 1st gear for too long. It will shift eventually and will shift quickly if you let off the gas towards redline. Has anybody else experienced this??

I am also wondering about the stereo. It has BOSE like all other GLEs, but the head unit is experiencing some problems that we have had on all but one of our previous Nissan vehichles. The display only works some of the time. (on the other vehichles it was none of the time) Is this fixable? I assume some of you have experienced this as well since we have seen it happen in 5/6 Nissan vehichles we have owned. What can I do? Can I replace just the head unit? Also, can I add subs to the BOSE stereo system in this particular car?

Well, those are about the only questions I have for now.

Thanks,
Jonathan

I also wonder if anybody around here has a Dark Green colored '95 GLE model and if they are happy with the color? I'm not too sure. I have a friend who does paint for a living and could do some work for pretty cheap. Probably $800... I'm just wondering if this color is going to grow on me or not.

I didn't actually choose it, just kind of ended up with it, but black emerald has turned out to be my favorite max color.
