What new struts to get?...not lowered or needed for handling
ok, I can't search since it is disabled at the moment, and every other thread on shocks seems to be related to race handling / lowered cars. So, my question is actually a bit different.
What I need is a set of struts / shocks (haven't actually checked to see what it uses yet) that hopefully will ride pretty well, but at least in the rear I need them to be able to take a load. Due to my job, I drive a lot of the time, and have to carry around like 300-400 pounds of parts in the trunk and back seat. Currently, the ride seems to be at least ok with stock setup, but I have 90k miles now and a lot of the driving is city driving. I think the suspension is starting to show its age and the rear end droops a bit more than I would like with all of those parts back there. Any suggestions on a heavy duty strut setup for the rear that would hopefully not adversely affect my handling? Something to keep the car leveled some? Any help appreciated!

KYB GR2's are a reasonably priced aftermarket strut that greatly improves handling and doesn't mess up your drivability very much.
They are generally a replacement strut for cars that aren't lowered.
I went through my front ones in 30,000 miles but am still on the rear ones after over 60,000 miles. However, I am lowered with a spring that doesn't allow any suspension travel. (bad idea with GR2's!!)
I believe Koni's or Tockico's(?) have a lifetime warranty though.....have to check on that one though.
Best of luck

Thanks for the opinion. Any idea if they provide any sort of overload or anything? Or would that be more a function of the springs? My Maxima kinda looks like an old school low-rider with the rear end down lower than the front end and would like to even it out as well
Carrying around all that gear everywhere really is a pain.
