Whats the legal tint percent for NY?

 

70% whcih is basically nothing

 

Whats the legal tint % for NY? In other words, what is the darkest % you can have your windows legally in NY?

 

i said 70%

 

you MUST mean 30%

 

35% all the way around..

 

i went the legal route as well. in ontario, its 30% on the front windows, and anything you want on the rest. i did 30% on the sides and 20% on the rear window. i wish i did 20 all around :|

there is a guy in my town that was going to charge me 75 bucks to take the tint off my car that is already there.. then 190 bucks to do 15% all the way around w/ the strip in the window...

is this a good deal? or would it be best to just keep the 35% that is there now....

well i have a 35% on my windshield and if you want a tint a 35% is not what youre looking for....i have 5% on all my other windows and during the day i wish i had gotten a layer of 15% over that 5% but be weary...5% on the back window had led me to back up into a lot of ****...im about to move to TX though so the windsheild and front window tint have to go or ill get pulled over faster that a honda civic hatchback without a muffler

ive got 15% tint and just got a summons for it.....in NYC the limit is 70% first time ive been ticketed for that....ah well....im leaving them...
