Antenna Removal...Yeah, again.

Sorry for the repost, but I still can't get the damn antenna mast out of the housing. Referring to these instructions... http://www.carstereohelp.org/DoItYou...ssanPwrAnt.htm I have taken out the antenna motor housing, thinking that I'd be able to get the mast out, but anyway, opened it up by removing the 6 screws, and there was no cable in the housing, which is what I half-expected. Should I just pull hard to get the mast out, I'm fearful of breaking something by doing that though. My antenna was snapped off under the previous owner's un-supervision, so now I have like two "shafts" (look at your antenna while it's up, you'll hopefully know what I mean) and can't take it out. Please help...

can anyone give me some help...I'm really having trouble getting this damn thing out. I've used ALL of my strength, this thing is not coming out. Please give me some help.
