Hypergounding Alternator...

Our alternators have 2 connections, a clip style plug and a 14mm bolt. I want to make sure that the bolt is for (-) Negative. Anyone hypergound the bolt? ( I don't want to make a short anywhere)

Thanks!

The 14mm bolt is the output + wire that goes to the battery to charge it. The wires in the connector are used to regulate when it cycles and how much charge it puts out. The alternator is grounded through the case which is already bolted to the engine. If you want to you can run an extra ground to the engine block.
