ECM replacement
Hi, I have a 1999 Maxima SE. I put in Nissan Dealer ( in Lansing ) to fix A/C, because it don't blow out cold air.Dealer diagnos and say bad presure switch, I have them replace presure switch, then they say it need to repare wire also, I let them repare wire. Total they charged me more than $300. they called me come to pick my Maxima up, I picked up my ca and drove it home, I check it out and seee A/C still don't work ( clutch still not engage ). I took it back to dealer.Second time they call me and told me my car is done, I came to Dealer and looked at the clutch, I saw the clutch engaged all the time, even I turn off A/C or turn off the fan. I came to talk a service manager and told him that is wrong. He said my car need to replace a ECM also. I told him I agree to have Dealer replace the ECM if they don't charge me labor for replace presure switch and replace wire, because they missed diagnos, this is their mistake ( because last year I had diagnos at this Dealer for the same problem, and thee result is " ECM don't turn on A/C". The service manager at Nisssan Dealer said even if I replace the ECM, the clutch still engage all the time. This is bull****........ I have plan to replace the ECM at home, but I don't know when we replace ECM it need to have the same part number or not? Any idea is appreceated.......Thanks all !

You can find the proper unit at www.car-parts.com and if you need directions on how to swap it out, I just posted the guide in the How-to sticky.
