Just curious if they are worthy of purchase...I know Cattman's are great headers but wanna' see what other competition is out there.

Just look at the design. See how the rear manifold pipe just slams into the exhaust stream from the front pipe?

my question is have anyone even dyno it because i don't judge thing for looks in the beggining how many people where so skeptical about gains fron a y-pipe now thats the #1 mod for hp/tq gains people have to stop saying something works or not without even testing it for themselves i don't care how many times a heard same thing about the pipe odd desing i want to know if someone actually have installed and dyno it

Thank You I couldnt had said it better myself..

If you get just the manifolds your doing jack ****, they wont help out. If you get the "headers" you can see by the design that the way the pipes meet in a perpendicular T it totally kills the flow. Now I know you shouldnt be taking advice from me cuz I am a total ricer with a dual exhaust but I know what I'm talking about. Check out the OBX catback.. the quality is sub par. Sure people are going to like it but only cuz of the price. Guess what the B pipe hangs too damn low and you have to get it adjusted just right with some hangers. I dont know about you but when I get any kind of aftermarket part I would hope the company tries to engineer it to fit as best as possible. Alright let me stop rambling and go mind my own business.

Maximus_Pr Soy Boricua but I live in Brooklyn, New York like Dave said.

but still no one has dynoed them or even installed them. I have a set that I got as a free sample and the construction is pretty good on them. It's just a question of if they would make power or not.

If someone wants to actually install them and dyno test them, I'll sell you this set that I have for well below cost.

Just send me an email.

Bryan

The original question was are they worth buying...if they're better than the factory setup wouldn't they be an improvement?! No one has any real-time information on them so everything is hearsay until I hear sound clips, dynos, etc.

Of course they give better gains than the ypipe. You're looking at a 5-7hp gain at the wheels. I'm guessing some low end torque will be lost and some high end HP will be gained. It's not worth it to a person with an after market ypipe. For a stock max I'd suggest you buy them if it seems worth it to you.

No, unless you have alot of free time to do the install and can sell your current y-pipe for sure.

I getting them from the manufacturer that OBX buys them from. They are the same header, it just doesn't come in an OBX box.

No one has any idea how much power these things make. They may make a crap load of power, they may do nothing. 1FastMax will be testing these for me and will lay down the final truth to whether or not they are worth it or not.

Are there other header dyno info out there? I thought someone got headers; not cattman or HS, but some other company, either stone racing or stillen. I could have sworn they lost power with them. Am i out of my mind?

On the 5.5 gen there was a guy that was losing power with the stillen header. He threw a hotshot header on there and made gobs of power after that.

I know you got the cattman headers, did you ever get a chance to dyno them?

I'm sending the headers out to 1fastmax tomorrow, he should have them on by Sunday if all goes well. At least the preliminary results will be out by then by what the user feels.

The weekend after that hopefully the dyno results will be out. If the power is there I'll sell these headers for cheaper than anyone else. Probably for $300 shipped during a 10+ group buy.

Yeah Bryan I got the cattman headers. I don't have a dyno of them but I can honestly say that I love these headers. I was so anxious to install them that I couldn't wait for a dyno.
Anyway if these things do offer good gains then cattman better watch his back. The price is just so hard to compete with.
Good luck man!

It looks jaggy. PHOTOBUCKET kinda does it weird. If your pic is more than 250kb, instead of resizing it to 250kb they resize it to less than 100kb.

i was talking with a friend of mine that owns a 2000 accord and he has obx headers the desing is very similar to ours he told me he did a dyno just after he installed the headers he noticed 21hp gain at 4800rpm aprox, not bad after all if you can have a few extra hp over to what you get with y-pipe alone is good

I'm hoping that these headers have simlar gains as well. On custommaxima's site they are going for $500. I will be able to supply these for around $300. The main deciding factor of whether or not I bring this in is if the numbers are there for the sales.

Custommaxima obx headers?
aren't they selling the cattman's header?

-------------------------------------------------------------------
nevermind they are selling both
