Advice on possible 97 GLE Purchase

I'm looking at purchasing a 97 GLE with 103xxx miles. Asking price is $6995 from a dealer. It has the standard GLE options and is in great condition. A few door dings and a some barely noticable scratch fixes on the rear bumper, but otherwise perfect. It has

Leather
Auto Climate Control
Sunroof
Bose

Questions: is the price fair? I tried to talk the dealer down and he wouldn't budge. Edmunds, KBB and NADA say it's worth in the 8k range but for some reason this seems high to me for a 8 year old car. Any input/thoughts?

The dealer only has a key copy (no original) so I don't know if it has keyless entry, is that option standard on a GLE? and is there anyway to tell if it has it. I know I can get a key fob on eBay for $20 bucks or so, but would like to make sure the car has this option first.

Thanks for any advice.

Note: I had a 92SE for years and sold it a few years ago and have always regretted it. I've since been through a BMW 318is, a Toyota truck and a Honda Civic, but I've always missed the the quality of the Maxima and am ready to get another one.

Thanks for any imput.

If you are really going to fight him over $400, then you are crazy.
If it is a car that you like, an extra $400-$500 is nothing. That is actually low mileage for a 97, from what I see.

BTW.....I would not get a GLE, but that is just me. I don't like them as much, because they don't respond to the mods as well and they are heavier.

I have a 97 GLE which I love. Only thing to consider is getting a 5 speed instead because thats my only regret. The SEs also have slightly better handling do to stiffer springs but that can easily be fixed with aftermarket suspension
