ok im not sure what the prob is but please help me out guys ..... i bought a 95 gle about a month ago .... when i bought it it had the CHECK ENGINE , BRAKE , and BATTERY lights on ...... a mechanic checked the alternator and emergency brake and said both were OK ... so the brake and battery lights shouldnt be on ...... the guy i bought it from changed the gauges ..... all needles work but is not marking the miles and lights wont go off .... what should i do?
holy ****....NOW im scared ...... got the codes from ecu and this is what i got
0205 , 0302 , 0304 , 0402 , 0707 , 0801 , 0803 , 0807 , 0901 , 0903 , 1008 , 1302 , 1305
how bad is this !!!!!! i mean how the hell can i still drive this car?
i decoded all of em .... Vacuum cut balve bypass valve, idle speed control, EVAP Canister purge control valve/soenoid valve circuit, Absolute Pressure Sensor, Fuel Pump Control Module, MAP/BARO SW Solenoid/Valve, Rear Heated O2 sensor, Knock Sensor, EGR System Hi/Low Flow, Fuel Tank Temperature Sensor, EVAP Canister vent control valve, EVAP canister purge volume control valve
can someone tell me an estimate of how much u think i'd have to pay to fix all of this

Think you need to check and make sure the gauges are connected correctly first of all. Then reset the ECU like the guy above said and see what codes u get. Some of the stuff is just being triggered off as bad because of the real cause.
You need to spend some good time troubleshooting this car.
I am sure you were smart enough to know that there had to be something wrong when you see Check engine light on the dash when you bought the car. Hope you didnt pay him alot of money for this car.

well i did ask him about it..... he told me that when he changed the gauges they went on and never went away .... i bought the car for $2600 ... with 151k miles ..... all ive changed are the struts and springs cause the were blown .... i havent had time to check why the lights were on till a couple of days ago .... but the car looks good and runs great and smooth
oh and how do i reset the ecu?
oh and how do i reset the ecu?
go in the FAQ for resetting the ECU and stuff...
I bet your guages are the problem. I hope you know that the spedometer tranmits all the info to the ECU coming from the speed sensor connected on the transmisson as well and probably tons of other stuff...When the speedo goes bad it will give you tons of codes. Seems like this guy didnt do a good job of connecting the spedo and other gauges and so u are seeing all these problems.
Also when a new speedo is installed it has to be calebrated for the type of car it will be installed on...dont know if this was done.
If you are mechanically incline i would recommend taking your guages out and making sure everything is connected properly and where it should be. I cannot help you much with this cause i have never dont it.
I did have the spedo go bad on me and i got it replaced at nissan with another OME speedo which the calibrated. cost me $430...
