Hi guys,
I came on here repeatedly and asked for help with my broken antenna mast problem, which should have been an easy fix. Well, a month or two later, I've decided to just run a universal rubber (black) antenna. The problem is if there isn't an adapter, I'll hafta buy an extension and run it through the car all the way to the head unit. Because we all know how easy maxima's are to work on, it wasn't surprizing to see that the harder option is the one that I hafta take. My question is: Instead of running an extension to the front, would it be a good idea/would it work to cut the tip of the antenna wire off along with the end of the original antenna reciever and splice the two together. I don't care that that would be a ghetto-rigged job, I just want it to work with running a wire throughout my car. Thanks in advance...

Why don.t you just buy a new antenna mast. They are easy to fix.

 

Yeah, 've seen them on ebay for real cheap. Looks ALOT better than that rubber ****e!

 

Go to AutoZone and find there Antenna's. They sell the mast with the plastic belt.

 

Or I could sell you a Power antenna kit I got for $35.

 

Get the replacement mast. Remove the nut off the top where the antenna comes out. Have someone turn the radio on and guide the antenna out and pull the plastic gear cord out of the motor. Take new antenna and insert the new gear cord and insert it in the motor and have them turn off thre radio and guide the new antenna in and replace the nut and you are done.
