I'm trying to wire a spoiler LED to the existing brake lights. Does anyone know which wire i'm suppose to get power from? What color is it?

 

there are 2 wires going to the brake light, one is ground (usually black) and the other is power. Thats it if you are tring to tap off of the trunk tail light then use a multi meter or just trace the wires. You cant mess up.

 

I don't have a multimeter....thats why i was asking off hand if anyone knew which color of the trunk light wires was which. Thanx for your help though.

 

are you adding on an aditional spoiler? if so, there should be a plug already there in your trunk lid waiting to be connected for the spoiler light. just splice it into that if you dont have the other end of the plug.

 

hey! the parking lights are red with a blue stripe and the brakes are red with a green stripe, ground is black.

oh and there are two spots that have connectors for the stock 3rd brake light, one is under the rear deck carpet (GXE and GLE inner light) and the other is under the trunk lid liner (SE spoiler light). The have the wires right there in the one plug ready to go.
