I know you said that it has a rough "idle", but just to make sure, does it smooth out as you give it a little gas?

Is is a rough "idle" or does the idle just do a fluctuating thing ??
Did you over-rev your engine at all ?? possibly miss a shift and it shot past redline ??

Could the TPS malfunctioning be causing my throttle to be jerky. When I am driving and I let off the throttle(slowly or abruptly), the car jerks badly. The same problem happens when I slowly accelerate while coasting. When applying throttle, acceleration isn't smooth. The engine seems to stumble and then all of a sudden the car jerks and then accelerates smoothly.

yeah you cant clean the TPS, you can adjust it, i think jaykid is under the impression that the throttle body is the TPS, but its not, check your haynes manual on how to adjusting and checking with a multimeter
