Getting Catless exhaust soon....

I know I'll have a CEL, how would I get rid of it? What tool do I need in order to bypass the code? I'm going to have a local shop do this for me because I don't have time on the weekends to get anything installed. Thanks.

I don't think the 1hp gain & CEL is worth not running a cat? Just my 2 pennies.

To answer you question I've never heard of anything that can bypass the CEL light thrown from not running a cat. Your best bet is to just remove the bulb from behind the instrument cluster so the CEL indicator doesn't light up.

Ah poop. Really? I read that thing in the Mod FAQ, and it seems like I should just cancel the order. What about the Y-pipe/Cat-back system? Will I have a CEL with that?

k, will do. I'll call warpspeed tomorrow and tell them to cancel the order.

Oh yeah, will I get a CEL with the Y-pipe and cat-back?

From what i understand is the sensor is after the cat. if your run a stright pipe, you will not have a check engion light

Ya, but with no cat, the exhaust will smell and you gain MAYBE 1hp.

yeah unless you are boosted there is really no reason to run a catless exhaust. i myself have a test pipe (no cat) and noticed absolutely no difference with it. if i knew where my stock cat was I'd put it back on.

just take the rear o2 sensor of the exhaust, zip-tie it to the bottom of hte car, and plug the hole it left (or find a shady exhaust shop that will weld it shut is even better). This will get rid of the CEL. I've had my "cat" on for the past 7K miles or so, and I have only gotten two CEL's, which after I reset it, it goes away for quite some time. If you are running forced induction, you might gain up to 20hp from removing the cat, but make sure you don't have to do emissions testing.

Don't listen to Chickan. If you completely remove the o2 sensor from the system you will run very rich all the time and be down nearly 15HP. Check this thread in which I clearly explain why this is true.
