clock resets, why?

For no apparent reason my clock keeps on reseting, the radio still keeps its set stations, but the clock would just randomly reset while driving.

What could be the problem for this?
Thanks in advance

Your constant power isn't working probably at the clock test at the clock with a voltmeter to make sure you're getting constant power if you are then everythings okay you just need another clock

Mine turns off, then I tap on it, and the light comes back on, but its at 1:00. Then sometimes when I tap on it, its still on the right time. That shyt is weird.

Obviously you need constant power for your clock to keep time, when you take your key out the light on the clock goes out but the clock keeps time= receiving constant power source, you'll have at least 3 wires running into the back of your clock, test them with a light meter or volt meter without the keys in the ignition, one of them should have power if so then you need a new clock if not you'll need to figure out which lead should give constant power, find another and split it off to your clock, I highly doubt you'll have to do this latter part, but 99 % sure you'll need a new/used clock, there about 4 of them on ebay right now, seach MAXIMA CLOCK

well it probly will help the power since the clock keeps time while off, it only resets while driving, which is the wierd part.
But yea, guess its time to get a new clock

thanks

Hmm I know on my old 3rd gen the clock would go out due to bad solder joints. If you look in the 3rd gen forums should find a writeup for how to fix this. Haven't had problems yet on the 4th gen but if it happens that is my guess.

The clock in my 97 reset a few weeks ago while driving. Not sure why, but it seems to be working fine now. Hopefully it will keep working.

Careful if you take the clock apart...i recently completed a mod called "Do not screw with my time".....it involves losing the little pieces that allow you to set the minutes and hours. Btw, you can replace then with the buttons from a tv remote.
