thinking of doing a lighting mod...anyone tried this?

I would like to make the clearance lights(cornering lights) on the front of the Max come on when I hit the 'dome' light on my key fob, and of course they would also come on when you hit the unlock. it seems all that is needed is to find the wire the sends the signal to the dome light and splice it into the switch leg of the relay for the front lights. Has anyone done this already??

It can be done with a relay and wire but why? It wouldn't be a very useful thing.

I would beg to differ on the usefulness, I have a friend with a Chevy Trailblazer, when he hits the unlock, it lights up the reverse lights and the front parking lights, makes your car very visible for finding at night, and improves security with lots of light around your car...very nice for dark parking lots etc., it stinks to trip over stuff or step in stuff that you can't see...

Its not terribly hard to do, you'd have to use a diode to make sure that when you turn your headlights on that the dome light doesnt come on too. I did this to my car, but instead of the corner lights coming on, my underbody neons come on...

Thats pretty sweet...all you would really need is a relay with the dome light as the trigger....and use the connections at the light switch to temporarily turn on your lights when the dome light is on. With the relay, its a 1-way system, so your dome isnt going to be on when your lights are

I am going to play around with this, mostly because it seems such a waste that 1 of the key fob buttons just turns on the dome light, not very useful, might as well make it useful...also I have modified the corner lights to be bright all the time so it would look really cool to have them come on when i'm going out to the car
