which breaks are better?
Has anyone ever performed real brake testing, i.e. stopping distance, rotor temp, etc on our 4th gens? I read somewhere, in a magazine
that the 5th gen 60-0 was 126', not bad for a mid size sedan. . . but then again, not sub-120' either.

Well, you need to be more clear. When you state "the kind of breaks are slotted" who is to know what youe mean?
Brakes are not slotted,.the rotors are.
If you really plan on going with a rotor upgrade, I say go with cross drilled.
With slotted, there is no chance of having them turned. I have cross/slotted rotors from irotors and their pretty good. But next time I will go with Brembo cross drilled.
If your looking for a really good upgrade, do the 300z brake swap.

Why can't you have slotted rotors turned? How is a slot any different from a hole when a tiny cutter goes over it?

With holes, they go straight through. The slots are angled and have an edge to them. They ruin the blade that is used when turning them.
With cross drilled, it goes over them.
Thats IF you find a place that will turn them. Some still will not turn them even if they are cross drilled.
Not sure if people will like this but I really like my combo of just brembo blanks (no cross drilled) and porterfields... Stops the car very quick and I just couldn't justify spending so much money for slotted/drilled if I wasn't even going to take it to some actual race track which I really dont have hte money or time to do. Only bad thing is they dust like a mother but no noise at all I think from the carbon kevlar pads but they were so much nicer then the ceramics I had on earlier.
