Engine or Transmission rattle at around 3000 rpm under load
While getting on the gas a little harder than normal I notice a distinct rattling sound at about 3000 rpm that last only a second (sounds like three quick "tinks" that could be compared to someone tapping a wrench against metal.) My valves will sometimes rattle on start up for a second if the car has been sitting for a couple of days, but this I take it is just the oil settling from sitting too long which causes the valves to not be properly lubed at first, once the oil is recirculated the noise goes away. This isn't the same type of noise but I thought I would mention it just the same.
I checked the TSB's and noticed the Timing Chain rattle but the symptoms didn't sound like mine. From the position of the noise I am thinking it is coming from the transmission or the engine, any help is appreciated.
