Anyone with LEDs in heat vents?
GOT AUTOZONE LEDs
OKAY!!! BIG PROBLEM HERE, well not really huge, but the leds are in place....and i ran the wires down (they are hanging down in the footwells, each pair of wires), i even extended the wires with more wires to reach down there or wherever i decide to wire em....
problem, (i grounded my black wire already) i spliced into the neons under the dash and each time i touched the positive wire of the led to the positive wire powering the neon, the neon would shut off and the led would just flicker and come off....i would just see a little blue spark in the led upon contact....and it would just stay unlit....
what should i do? i wanted the leds to go on with my underdash neons...im guessint there isnt enough power going to the leds to splice into that wire.....OR, should i remove the resistor on the led? in either case it doesnt look like i could do it.....can someone help me out please?
thanks...

If you have neons you have a power cord running to the neon.Tap into this power after the switch and stoick your red there. Then put the black under and screw behind the dash and it should ground it out. that should work. or ground to your cig lighter, , ground to your clock, grounding does not have to be the same source.

i did this exactly, i grounded to a screw behind the dash, and i tapped into the power source after the switch and right before it runs in to power the neon, and it did as i described earlier....any ideas?
is it possible i have the wrong wire to the neon? one is black the other is black with a white stripe...im pretty sure white stripe is positive, which is why the led flickers one time as soon as i touch it.....do i have to take the resistor off the led?
If i wanted to connect the two led's to a seperate switch.....how would this be done? There are three prongs on the switch, one is power, one is ground, and one is for the positive of the led's correct? And i can connect both grounds to a screw?
i have no idea for the three prong one, just touch the wires on the prongs and see for ureself i guess....or dont use a prong... what i did was: the positive coming from one led, i combined with the positive for the other, and the same for the negative, so i had one pos and one neg for the two leds (just combined the pos's and neg's).....then i grounded the negative right on a screw nearby ,so i made sure the neg wire was short. after that i exteneded the pos with longer wire and i ran it behind the radio/ac/dash pieces and to 1 prong on my switch, then i grabbed more wire and i ran that wire from cig lighter to the other prong on the switch....so the positive wire goes from
LEDs.......SWITCH PRONG 1 then second wire goes from CIG LIGHTER (OR POWER SOURCE).....to switch prong 2...
3 prongs id have no idea how to wire that....if u find out let me know...

i made the negative short because i just grounded it to the screw holding the radio and ac unit up, there are two screws there, i dont know how u dont see em....i made the negs long enough to reach there and enough slack to pull the vents out, just in case i have to later on.....
this is getting redundant, just ground the wires to another ground wire somewhere or find a metal screw somewhere, its not hard considering almost everything in ure dash is screwed in with a metal screw....
i foudn that 194 bulb underneath the shifter, how doi get that bulb out of the socket, its in there really tight...any suggestions?
and my second question is, would it be too difficult to put leds in the other two holes in the heat vents, there are 4 holes total, we r loking at the two in the center, but there are two on jthe outsides of the heat vents...any problems with that?

I put LED's in all 4 holes. There's no problem.....just a little tight squeeze when putting the vent assembly back in. Everything worked out and it looks hott. Just wish i could finish it by putting LED's in the outer vents.

how many leds u put in the door handles, and where? behind the actual handle or under the lock? the guy i saw do it had 2 in opposite cornes of each handle, so 4 altogether
