Power Antenna

My power antenna has been stuck up since I got the car. The car has a Sony cassette deck in it when I got it. Even though the antenna was stuck up, whenever the radio would be turned on or off I could hear the antenna making noise. I just replaced the cassestte deck with a Sony CD player and now I can't even hear the antenna making noise. Luckily it's stuck in the up position.

have some one sit in the car and turn the radio on and off while you listen in your trunk by the antanna and also the outside of the car by the antanna. if you dont hear anything my guess would be that your motor is out, if you do hear something running then the antanna has probably become disconnected form the motor, happened on my 90 max.

good luck

If you get that noise from the antenna motor again, you just have to replace the antenna mast...

I had to replace the whole antenna motor after I ordered a replacement antenna that I never used, so if you want a brand new Maxima-specific antenna mast w/ installation instructions, I'll let it go for $20 shipped
Send me an e-mail if you want it!

It stopped making the noise when I switched out radios. That's whats confusing me. I don't know if it is coincedence or not.

did you connect the wire for the power to the antenna? i needed to insert the remote wire as well as the power antenna wire for the antenna to go up and down inmy new jvc deck. if you hear it going, the mast is probalby damaged, its a nylon threaded wire that is moved by some gears in the motor, check ebay for it

You had to hook up the amp remote wire as well as the antenna power wire? What did you hook the remote wire to?
