ECU Code 0510; Which O2 sensor was it that cloaked the KS code?
ECU Code 0510; Which O2 sensor was it that cloaked the KS code?
It's been a long time since I last posted, but not too long ago I was a regular. I just got the 0510 (REAR 02 SENSOR) code this week, but since I can't search I cannot investigate further. If someone could pull up some threads I would really appreciate it.
Additionally, I remember that the Knock Sensor code was sometimes related to an oxygen sensor code, but I can't remember if it was the front or rear O2s. Right now I only have 0510, but after looking at Motorvate.ca I saw his rear Oxygen sensor code was 0707. I don't recall there being two separate codes for the same problem.
Thanks,

same problem
Hype,
I've got a '99 SE auto. A few months ago, my CEL started coming on and staying on for no apparent reason in all different circumstances After long trips, sitting at idle...accelerating up a hill on the highway...etc.
I did a diagnostic and found the same codes as you (7,7 and 5, 10). 5,10 points to nothing, but the 7,7 points to the Rear Heated O2 sensor. Car was running smoothly, so I would just reset the light after each time it came on because I couldn't stand seeing it on all the time.
Before spending hundreds replacing all the O2 sensors, my dad suggested I switch to Premium gas. OK, OK...some of you are thinking... "You should have been using Premium gas the whole time you've owned the car!" I used to use Regular. Well, I haven't before, but now I use only Premium. It's been over a month now with daily driving and I haven't seen the CEL come on again.
Miracle??? I don't know. But we'll see what happens in the long run.
Let me know if that helps.

Ok I pulled out my FSM and 0510 is a Rear O2 response monitoring error code and 0707 is a Rear O2 Max Voltage Monitoring error code. Like you I got a CEL once, reset it, got it again, reset, and I haven't seen it again.
I'm wondering if these codes are signifying a very lazy O2 or if the Rear O2 really needs to be replaced. I get my inspections in January every year, so I guess I'm going to keep an eye on it to see if the problems reoccurs before then.
