This is the best way to paint an interior

I am glad that I can finally help some one on this site. I have been taking advice from so many people and I haven't had the chance to offer anyone real advice.

The interiors are fairly easy to paint, but you have to do it the right way or it will chip/crack, sumudge and in the long run look like a**. There is a pre-primer called Bulldogg that you have to use. You see the interior panels of cars have a certain concentration of oils in them that makes it hard for paint to stick to. Bulldogg "in a way" suppresses the oils and gives the paint a much better to adhere to. Takes a little more time, but it will pay off in the long run.

If have any additional questions about this topic that I have not covered, please post it here or e-mail me.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Your best bet to find the good stuff would be at a local body shop.

Are you gonna paint this with real automotive paint or spray paint? The first car that my cousin and I fooled around with, we painted the inside pieces with spray paint that we picked up at an automotive suppy store. Honestly, it looked really cheap. If I were you, I would find a color that you really like, and spray it with real automotive paint. That always looks nice when your done! Plus there is such a variety to choose from.

But like I said you can find Bulldogg at almost any body shop!

I hope this helps and good luck!

Well...
I was thinking of a color in the gun-metal metallic silver.
Are you talking about the paint that they sell at Pepboys?
Because that's what I was going to purchase. the all purpose body paint at Pep boys.

They primer...
what kinda primer should I use?
if bulldogg isn't available? would any old primer that you use for the body work?
is sanding also a good idea?

i did this,

i used some spray paint i used from a hardware store to paint my ish black forest green to match my exterior. don't put the first coat on too thick cuz that's what i did and it began flaking off a few months later. i had to scrape it all off and buy some new stuff, including new speaker grills. it came out costing like 100 bucks. do it the right way, light coats
peace,

clear coat?

I'm in the process of painting all the dash trim red (notice how it's already added to my sig, hehe) and I used regular spray paint because I planned on sealing it in some sort of clear coat. Unfortunately I can't seem to find one that works. I used a clear enamal from Rustoleum and that didn't work (it was like I was spraying on air, it did nothing) so I tried a polyurethane coat but that didn't work either. It gave me the high gloss look I wanted but wasn't very strong. I also applied it wrong so the second coat cracked the first coat. While sanding it down it just started peeling off and now I'm considering looking for something else. Anybody have any suggestions?

Do a search online, and you will find a paint made for painting interiors. A little pricy, but it is supposed to be better than regular paint.

here's the deal with painting interior.. i went to many shops and stuff and everyone recommended vinyl paint.. so i grabbed some and grabbed a primer and sandpaper.. i did all that and it turned out GREAT!! but it will scratch easily.. i mean real easy.. so i think i am gonna try and find a black maxima that got junked and take the black interior parts out of it.. mine just wont cut it scratching so easily..
