trunk won't close...HELP!!

ok, so i had a keg in my trunk for a house party, and everytime i had to brake at a stop light the keg would slam forward. no matter how lightly i braked or how far away from a light or stop sign i started braking, the keg was just too heavy and outta control. then when i would accelerate again, the keg would slam backwards toward the bumper.

so i finally get home and i try to open the trunk, but the latch sounded different than it normally did when it unlocked. i had to pull a little for the trunk to open. so my friend and i take the keg outta the trunk and i go to close it, but it just bounces off the car. i try closing it a few more times, but no luck. i've tried clicking the trunk unlock button while pushing down on the trunk, as well as having the key in the trunk and turning it to the open position while trying to close, but neither worked.

as of right now, i have my trunk tied down with a piece of rope. please help me out, my car looks so ghetto with that white strand of rope tied from my spoiler to the bottom of my bumper!

The easy answer is that some part of the lock or latch got bent by the impact of the keg... take a look at it and see what doesn't look right - shouldn't be that hard to straighten out... or take some pics and link them - so we can look and compare to our own trunk latch.
