Cefiro headlight W/ Xenons
Cefiro headlight W/ Xenons
has anyone had any experience putting xenon lights (with ballasts) into these headlights? how is the light output?
does it get too hot? i know that xenon draws less power than halogen, so does that mean there is less heat?
someone mentioned that if i put HID in the cefiro headlights, it would crack/melt the housing.....

I could be wrong, but I think you may be mixing up some things. There was a thread a while back about the corner light housing on a cefiro headlight melting from running a high wattage bulb with a nub cut to make it brighter. However, I hadn't seen any about the regular bulb housing part melting.
Like I said, please correct me if i'm wrong..

I believe real HIDs make less heat than halogen bulbs.
Yeah it does make your corners melt. I have HID's in the cefiro's (9004), and nothing has happened to that part of the cefiros. On the other hand I was running the corners with 1 nub cut and it melted the driver side reducer off and broke the bulb.

mayb ill just get led bulbs for the corner lamps, and how is ure output with the 9004's it sucks doesnt it? if u get the h4s, regular h4 bulbs, will it be brighter and have a better light output?
Remember. Real HIDs are only running about 13-15 watts of energy. That's 1/4 that of your normal headlights at 52 watts. That is indeed a lot less heat being put out. Most of the temperature is in the inner core of the bulb which can get unbelievably hot, yet the outer portions of the bulb are indeed cooler, therefore being harder to melt your housings than would a normal headlight bulb.
