I need help with finding what FDDIC number i need for the factory remote

I have a 96 gle and i need a remote but i currently dont have one. I went to purchase one on ebay and they said that the FDDIC numbers have to match the one on my current remote. Is there any other way of finding out what number i can use?

You should be able to use any remote. But, you have to make sure your car has a keyless entry unit already installed. The FCC ID on my 96 GXE's remote is A269ZUA078. When I wanted another key fob I just bought one with the same FCC ID on eBay and I got it to work.

I think the FCC ID is the same on every car. The remote I bought was from a 99 Maxima.

ya...open your trunk and look to see if there are black circles between the bumper and the trunk....if there are chances are you do have keyless entry....other factors are...do you have power locks?

Open the trunk, on the right side behind the side piece there should be a "Keyless Entry Unit". You will have to undo a couple clips to get the plastic/cloth side piece down to see the unit.
