Ok, I am really confused about this issue. I've been going to many websites to look at acceleration numbers for Maximas and its mind boggling in the differences between some of the numbers. For example, an '89 max 5spd got like 9sec 0-60 and my measly Saturn supposedly turned in an 8sec 0-60, which is BS because I ran that same Max and got thoroughly owned upon. So my question is, what are some realistic number for an Auto/Manual 4th gen? Is it better off to think that all 4th gen Maximas are sub-7sec cars? or just the manuals?

sorry if this is a pointless question, but i was just wondering. Thank you for your input in advance

Car and Driver tested a 95 SE stick and got a 0-60 time of 6.6 seconds. They also tested a auto 96 GXE and got a 0-60 time of 8.0.

Doing this with my own car, I got numbers of 7.3, 7.6, 7.5, 7.5 and 7.6 seconds. This is with a small amount of brake torquing though, which is hard on the tranny, and manually shifting into second with my automatic. Many more people have gotten sub-7 second times with their manual transmission Maximas. So blindly, I would say about 7.5 seconds for an auto '95 Maxima and 6.8 to 7.0 seconds for a manual '95 Maxima. As far as I know, the numbers got ~.2 to .4 seconds slower as the years went on, until the 5th Gens came out.

Well I have

A 1997 5-speed with muffler and b-pipe and I beat a brand new 4.4I BMW X5 which is 6.7 to sixty, and I beat him to 80.
That was with my girlfriend in the car and then without her in the car I beat an Audi TT that is 6.2 to sixty, so you play with the numbers I'd say I beat the TT because of driver abilty, and the X5 was because I am a little faster that 6.7 to sixty I would guess I am around 6.4-6.6 to 60 can't wait to get my CAI and y-pipe that should put me at about 6.0 or better to 60.

Accurate for the particular car tested only. Production variances carry too much weight for an absolute 0-60 time to have alot of meaning, just an approximate range or target. Mine are accurate for my particular car though.
